Notice
Intellectual property
What the Foundation owns, what it does not claim, and what you may do.
This notice is a starting point written with the site, not legal advice. The Foundation should read it, change what is not true, and take advice before relying on it.
THE MARK AND THE NAME
All rights are reserved for Abusua Akoma and Abusuakoma along with symbols, marks and logos. The Abusua Akoma mark, the name in both spellings, and the wordmark may not be used to represent another organisation, to suggest a connection that does not exist, or altered, recoloured or redrawn.
WHAT WE DO NOT CLAIM
Nyame Dua, Abusua Pa and Akoma are Adinkra symbols of the Akan people. They are heritage and nobody owns them. Their meanings on this site are stated as they are documented rather than adapted to suit us, and they are always shown separately from the Foundation's own mark.
The Foundation does not claim the spirit behind the work as its own.
WORDS AND PHOTOGRAPHS
The writing on this site belongs to the Foundation. Photographs belong to the Foundation or to whoever took them, and where a picture is illustrative or a mock-up it is labelled as such. Some photographs carry a watermark; removing it does not change who the picture belongs to.
USING ANY OF IT
Quote us, link to us, and print a page for your own use. Ask first before reproducing photographs, using the mark, or republishing a substantial part of the writing. We are a community foundation and the answer is usually yes.
IF SOMETHING HERE IS YOURS
If you believe a photograph or a piece of writing on this site is yours and should not be, tell us and we will take it down while we look into it.
This is the wording the site ships with. The Foundation has not replaced it yet.
